WYN PENCARREG
PISTOLA
Welsh bass baritone Wyn Pencarreg studied at the Royal Northern College of Music. He has won many prizes and awards including the Erich Vietheer Memorial Award from Glyndebourne. His operatic roles include Alcindoro La bohème, Padre Sansón The Exterminating Angel, Flemish Deputy Don Carlos (Royal Ballet & Opera); Doctor Bartolo Le nozze di Figaro, Le Sire de Béthune Les vêpres siciliennes, Sir Walter Raleigh Roberto Devereux (Welsh National Opera); Le Bailli Werther (Irish National Opera); Surin The Queen of Spades (English National Opera); Sharpless Madama Butterfly (Royal Albert Hall); Donner Das Rheingold (Longborough Festival Opera); and Music Master Ariadne auf Naxos (West Green House Opera).
He has also performed with companies including Opera North, Glyndebourne, Grange Park Opera, Opéra de Monte-Carlo and English Touring Opera. World premières include Papin Babette’s Feast (Royal Ballet & Opera) and Lalchand The Firework-Maker’s Daughter (The Opera Group).
